Banyuwangi, October 17, 2025 – PT Suri Tani Pemuka (STP), a company operating in the aquaculture industry, carried out an initiative to plant 3,000 mangrove seedlings and release 100 sea turtle hatchlings at Cacalan Beach, Banyuwangi Regency. This activity is part of the company's commitment to implementing responsible and sustainable aquaculture practices.
This initiative focuses on water conservation and nature preservation to maintain the balance of the marine ecosystem. The activity was conducted in collaboration with the Pantai Rejo Joint Business Group (KUB), KUB Sumber Barokah, and the Cacalan Beach Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis). It was also supported by the Environmental Office, the Fisheries and Marine Office, the Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA), and local district authorities (Muspika).
This collaboration serves as a tangible form of synergy between the company, government, and community in protecting natural environments—particularly coastal areas—through education, direct action, ecosystem balancing, and local community empowerment. As a company in the aquaculture industry, environmental conservation is one of STP’s top priorities. Mangrove planting plays a vital role as a natural coastline protector, a carbon sink, and a habitat for various marine life. Meanwhile, the release of hatchlings symbolizes care for the survival of marine species that help maintain a healthy ocean ecosystem.
Previously, STP also conducted cypress tree planting in 2022 and early 2025 at Warudoyong Beach. These efforts are part of STP's ongoing contribution to environmental preservation and support for coastal development and conservation-based tourism in Banyuwangi Regency.
Sutrisman, Head of Unit for STP’s Fish and Shrimp Feed Mill in Banyuwangi, stated: "As an aquaculture company in Indonesia, we place great importance on environmental sustainability. We hope that the various activities we have implemented can support nature and ecosystems, while boosting the economy—especially in areas located near our operational units."
Through these concrete steps, STP hopes to provide a positive impact on the environment and surrounding communities, while strengthening public awareness regarding the importance of nature conservation and serving as an inspiration for other aquaculture companies.
